As co-founder and CEO of theICEway, Ian Richardson (‘Richie’) is renowned throughout the maritime industry having started life working as the UK IT Manager for Hurtigruten.

Unlike many of his fellow CEOs, he often takes an active role in projects to add invaluable insights.

Other members of the team have been just as involved, including President of theICEway USA Angel Moledo. Angel joined us at the start of 2020 and like Richie, his experience in cruise is also vast. He previously held commercial leadership positions at Hurtigruten, Oceania Cruises and Royal Caribbean, and we are delighted to have him on board.

CEO Ian Richardson also holds the distinction of being a Seatrade Tech Ambassador for the Seatrade Cruise Virtual Tech & Innovation event in April 2021. In previous years theICEway has sponsored the Seatrade Cruise Awards and were due to host a booth at Seatrade Global last year before the event was cancelled due to Covid-19.

theICEway is a CLIA Executive Partner within the CLIA Executive Partner Program. This exclusive global platform brings together the leading figures and decision makers from within the cruise industry. We were also instrumental in the development of the CLIA Executive Partner Technology Initiative, an advisory council designed to help solve cruise challenges using technology.

Our cruise industry experts are regularly invited to attend the annual International Cruise Summit, often in the role of moderators or guest speakers.
