Today though, we focus upon the SC Ambassador Programme. More specifically, we speak with Ian Richardson about his recent appointment as an ambassador.

The Seatrade Cruise Ambassador Programme
Ambassadors are typically brand champions, and so it is in this case. They are responsible for spreading the word about upcoming events, as well as appearing at them to impart their knowledge on their particular expertise.
The Seatrade programme is designed to ensure that only the best content is assembled and shared within the cruise community. We are delighted then that our own Ian Richardson will be spearheading this effort on the technology front.
Ian Richardson, Global Tech Ambassador
Ian has worked in cruise for more than 20 years, starting as an IT Manager. He then co-founded theICEway with Conor Byrne. The two have strived to create innovative solutions for the industry ever since. In 2021, he was named as Seatrade Cruise Global Tech Ambassador. We caught up with him for a few words on the role and the event itself:

I’m delighted to have the opportunity to add value by helping develop content for the most prestigious cruise events and to speak about the key issues in this fantastic industry. The role of IT has grown exponentially over the years and continues to do so. The pandemic has had a huge effect of course in accelerating digitalisation. There are so many new innovations which the guests are eager to get back onto the ships and experience. It is a great time to be in cruise!”
