Cruise industry news Jul 2021

by Asa Sargeant | August 4, 2021 | Cruise & Maritime, Cruise Industry News | 0 Comments

It’s that time again and this month we have had the pleasure of choosing from mainly positive news stories. We are delighted to say that your cruise industry news Jul 2021 is full of highlights. There is the restart of international cruising from England, details of a partnership between NCL and Starbucks and more...

International Cruises From England Are Go

The BBC published this story just last week. After a 16-month hiatus enforced by the pandemic, international cruises can now begin again from England. As of August 2nd, fully vaccinated US and EU travellers arriving from amber countries will not need to quarantine. They will also not need to take a test on the eighth day of arrival.

Pre-departure and PCR* tests will still need to be taken, plus arrivals must complete a passenger locator form. Clearly there are still obstacles to overcome but this is certainly another step forwards on the road to recovery.

MSC Restarting In The US

This Cruise Industry News story is another hugely positive one. The MSC Meraviglia is now welcoming guests out of PortMiami, Florida. MSC Cruises initially restarted in the Mediterranean in August 2020. 2021 has seen the return of its ships across the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. The UK, the Red Sea and the Caribbean followed, now joined by the US. The MSC Meraviglia is due to visit Nassau and will stay overnight at the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

And Finally…

This piece from Cruisehive.com is definitely worthy of the ‘and finally’ slot. It is also yet another step forward for the cruise industry, demonstrating the power cruise lines have these days. Norwegian Cruise Line is rolling out Starbucks across its entire fleet. Guests will be able to enjoy a latte on all 17 ships and private destinations by the end of 2022.

So there you have it, cruise industry news Jul 2021. More destinations are opening up and major cruise lines are edging closer to a full return to sea. Plus, high-profile brand partnerships are very much back on the agenda… Follow us for more updates or contact us if you need help with IT support or solutions.
